Responsibilities

We are looking for you to join us as a working student (f/m/d) of at least 6 months for DB Netz AG in Frankfurt am Main and partially in Berlin.

The goal of this position is to enhance and extend the simulation model of rail infrastructure elements that are currently implemented on a Raspberry Pi. Furthermore, the role shall support the development teams with regards to quality aspects, showcases and implementation on other hardware platforms as well.

Your tasks:

  • You will support the development in an agile environment
  • You will develop independently simulation models in Python and C#
  • You will work with hardware platforms such as RasberryPi as part of HiL test setups
  • You will support the team with hardware setups (e.g., setup configuration, carry out measurements)
  • You will support other technical departments and teams in software development
  • You will support the team with the development and execution of demonstrations and showcases
  • You will support the team with the specification of the simulation model and test environment
  • You will support the team with the organization, documentation and monitoring of the projects and the laboratory

Qualifications

Your profile:

  • You are studying in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar fields and you have a great interest in Innovation, Technologies, Mobility, Artificial Intelligence, and Agile Software Development Philosophy
  • Good Knowledge on Simulation (Rail Control, network and Security is a plus) and also a good Knowledge of Programming in Python and C#/C++
  • You have already used Arduino or Raspberry Pi in a hardware setup
  • Knowledge in general electrical hardware engineering and hardware integration
  • Knowledge in Vector Tool and Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow is a plus
  • Very good language skills in English, German language skill is a plus
  • Your ability to work independently in a structured way, your high-quality orientation, your ability to work in teams and your communication skills round off your profile
